LactoFem ® is a synbiotic (probiotic + prebiotic) formulation which is suitable for ladies and girls and contains high amounts of 7 safe and beneficial bacterial strains plus fructooligosaccharides as prebiotic. According to scientific studies, after entering and proliferation in the gastrointestinal tract, lactobacilli have the ability to migrate to the vaginal environment through the perineum and thus reach the reproductive system and colonize there. Strains and prebiotic used include the following:
• Lactobacillus fermnetum
• Lactobacillus plantarum
• Lactobacillus acidophilus
• Lactobacillus gasseri
10⁹CFU
+ Fructooligosaccharides (FOS)
This product is gluten-free.
Taking probiotics can be useful in any situation, but the beneficial effects of this product is more obvious in the following conditions:
• At the time of exposure to genitourinary infections, to increase the effects of medications (antibiotics and antifungals) and help with treatment.
• At the end of the treatment course for re-establishing the balance of natural flora and preventing the recurrence of urogenital infections.
• Helping prevent and treat urinary tract infections (UTI) in ladies and girls.
• Reducing menopause symptoms such as vaginal dryness and helping increase vaginal discharge and prevention of UTIs.
• During pregnancy, to prevent gestational diabetes and to reduce risk of allergy in newborns.
Take 1 to 2 capsules daily or as directed by your doctor. It is best to take after meal.
In the female genital tract, there are over 50 species of beneficial microorganisms that form the vaginal natural flora and most of them are lactobacilli. These bacteria play an important role in maintaining the physiological balance of the genitourinary system and enhancing the immune system. The vaginal microflora fluctuates in various conditions, such as using antibiotics and antifungals, hormonal medications, sexual intercourse, going to swimming pool frequently, menopause, etc., and it provides an opportunity for growth and colonization of pathogens. The use of probiotic supplements exerts many protective effects in the body by helping restoration of the microbial flora of genitourinary tract of women. These effects include preventing and helping treat infections caused by pathogens.
The probiotic strains used in this product are safe. Most of the probiotics are registered as GRAS agents (Generally Recognized as Safe) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the rest are approved by Europe and Japan. Probiotics are well tolerated and can only cause bloating in some patients, which usually improves with continued use. If this complication persists or worsens, inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Concomitant use of antibiotics with probiotics might decrease the effectiveness of probiotics. It is recommended to separate administration of antibiotics and probiotics by at least 2 hours.
In the following cases, inform the physician before taking the product:
Having certain conditions such as immunodeficiency and AIDS, taking immunosuppressive or chemotherapy drugs,using intravenous catheters, heart valve disease, active ulcerative colitis, short bowel syndrome, signs of infection (such as high fever, chills and persistent cough) and any history of medicine or food allergies.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately if you notice any signs of infection (such as high fever, chills and persistent cough) or allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, mouth and tongue, severe dizziness, cough, chest tightness and difficulty in breathing.
Avoid taking the product if you have acute pancreatitis or a history of allergy to any of product's components.
Based on numerous scientific studies, the use of probiotics during pregnancy and lactation is safe, but it's best to take it with your doctor's advice.
According to the results of the stability tests, the probiotic supplements of Zist Takhmir ® can be stored below 25˚C for 2 weeks, but the best storage condition is to keep this product at temperature 2-8°C (inside refrigerator), which prolongs the shelf life of probiotic bacteria.
Keep this product away from moisture and sunlight and out of reach of children.
